Egg Burji / Muttai Poriyal

Muttai Poriyal or  Egg bhurji or Egg khagina (as it is known in Pakistan), is a dish popular in north and western India and Pakistan. Its preparation and appearance are similar to scrambled eggs and the Parsi dish akuri. The difference lies in the addition of sautéed chopped onions, chilies, and optional spices. It is usually served with rotis or bread or as a sidedish for rice varieties.

All you need for this yummy and tasty sidedish - 'Muttai Poriyal'..

Eggs - 2
Onion - 1
Tomato - 1
Ginger - dry dinger powder is also fine.
Turmeric Powder
Chicken Masala
Pepper Powder
Fine Coconut or coconut milk
Mustard seeds and oil for frying
Salt to taste

Steps..

Add oil and mustard seeds in pan. When mustard seeds starts splattering, add the chopped onions.










When onions become golden brown, add ginger. I used dry ginger powder and fry for sometime.








Add the tomato and allow it to fry for sometime, until it becomes mushy and oil splits from it.








Add Turmeric Powder, Chicken Masala, Pepper powder & salt to taste and mix well.








Break the eggs and add it to the mixture.









Add coconut and  mix well, until the scrambled eggs become thick.








Remove from flame and serve this awesome muttai poriyal it with your favorite dish. Enjoy!
