Puli satham or Tamarind Rice

All you need for this quick and tasty indian lunch recipe - Puli Sadam/Tamarind Rice

To Roast and Powder:
Rice - 2 tsp
Kadalai Paruppu - 2 tsp
Venthaiyam/Fenugreek seeds - 2 tsp

Other Ingredients:
Oil
Mustard seeds
Peanuts
Turmeric Powder
Coriander Powder
Salt to taste
Tamarind Juice - 1/2 cup
Chilly powder - 1tsp

Steps:

Roast Rice, Kadalai Paruppu and Fenugreek seeds with little oil. Cool it and grind into paste in mixture.







Heat oil in pan. When hot, add mustard seeds. When it splutters, add peanuts and roast until golden brown.







Add tamarind extract to the pan and allow it to cook.








Add turmeric powder, coriander powder, chilli powder and above the grinded mixture to the tamarind extract and allow it to cook well.







Heat it until the tamarind rice mix becomes thick. Mix it with rice and allow it to rest for some 15-20minutes, so that the rice absorbs all the taste.







Serve it for lunch and Enjoy!!!
